Sixth batch of hospital management course receives enthusiastic response


The Sankara Nethralaya Academy, the academic arm of Sankara Nethralaya which has carved a niche for itself among Health care and Hospital Management professionals with its trailblazing courses in these subjects like MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management, Certificate Course in Hospital Financial Management, Post Graduate program in Optical Retail Management and launched the ‘Weekend Certificate Course in Hospital Management’ – 6th batch successfully on 18.01.2014.

The session was flagged off with a brief introduction to its relevance, scope and the faculty members who would be handling the various modules on Healthcare Management by Shri A. Mahalingam, Assistant Registrar, The Sankara Nethralaya Academy cum director for this specialized course, he also used this opportunity to brief about the Sankara Nethralaya, the Sankara Nethralaya Academy their academic objective how the healthcare service sector is booming throwing open many opportunities and challenges to healthcare management professionals, he highlighted the wide array of career opportunities here and how healthcare institutions are enrolling their personnel to enhance their special skills. He explained that the Sankara Nethralaya Academy is offering many specialized diploma courses for such professionals.”

He also highlighted various objectives of this unique Certificate Course in Hospital Management as follows-

The course is intended to provide hospital management professionals with a broad perspective of the topics related to management with emphasis on healthcare delivery.

The pedagogy is healthcare specific and designed to address the concerns of the hospital administrators/executives/supervisors.

This course aims to the keep the participants abreast of the latest trends in healthcare management with topics designed to address contemporary issues in a healthcare organisation.

The course is designed to increase the overall understanding of management issues and concepts by mid-level and senior managers to help them make well–informed decisions, and is open for individuals in the supervisory/executive or managerial positions in hospitals.

The course can be pursued by individuals who are desirous of moving to a management position from their current level in the healthcare industry.

The program is to be conducted on a Weekend pattern on Saturdays between 2:00pm to 5:00pm for duration of 12 weeks.
